Meeting new quilters

Here is just an impression of an amazing quiltweek. Started on Tuesday 8 september at 10 a.m. with the preparations in the synagoge, and ended with dinner outside in the tent on Sunday evening 6.00 pm.

It's wonderful to be a quilter. I met so many people this week: new friends, facebook friends, blogfriends and old friends.

Lot's of people liked my show-and-tell about my 'antique quilts'. So many compliments I saw coming by on facebook. Thank you so much.

Lots of fun with the synagoge crew: Agnes, Karin, Etje, Christa, Arjan, Niels, Roel, Reinier, Henk, Jeltje  and some names I can't remember, sorry boys and girls ; ). Quilters never will be alone.

I managed to finish the top in two weeks, with some help from my friend Dieuwke.

Saturday: Jewish service from 10.00 am till 12.00 am. Amazing between the quilts.
The synagoge was build in 1892, the interior was partly destroyed in 1941. In 1954 the synagoge was sold to the protestant-christian community. Since 2010 there are Jewish services again. In the middle you can see the Arc, where they keep the Torah.

I did 6 show-and-tells. I'm glad so many people liked my story. With many thanks to my personal shopper in Seattle.
