Wonderful Gent

... thursday afternoon. On our way to Gent. Passing Antwerpen we were sick of all the highways and we decided to go country-road to Lokeren.

The weather was so bad ..... raining cats and dogs. And we already had a dog in the car.

First stop Lokeren .... what's in Lokeren .... well a very lovely quiltshop De Potterije. It's on my list again. And you know I felt like a real celeberity. Her shop is on the first floor ... and entering the shop .... feels like a suprise.
I have been brave girl and only bought fabric for granny.

15.00h back in the car on our way to Gent .......... a warm welcome in the Zebrastraat.be.
Blanche, Nadine and Monique were there to welcome me...... fun fun ...... having dinner together. Really good restaurant. And look at the yellow on the rooftop, wonderful shadows during summertime.

The Mauritshuis in The Hague

This building is build around 1644

... also called the Royal Picture Gallery. It's a lovely museum if you like painting of the golden age (1600s). There most famous painting is the Girl with the pearl earring.

The paintings here are so realistic. And I especially love the dogs that are painted. But really my favorite is the little bird from Fabricis called 't Putterje. I love living in The Hague.
View on the office of our prime minister. Called the Torentje (little tower)

Life is too short to wear boring clothes

Time flies...... and updating my blog seems harder then a few years ago. I think a lot of bloggers have this problem because facebook is so easy.

But I love my blog. At the end of each year I print out and my dad makes me a book. It feels like diary.

Yolande (or called Yo) had a fun afternoon in Leiden on a saturday in januar. Always start with a good lunch. And then go out for hunting. The agreement is ... we don't know where we are hunting for .... so no pressure in finding the right shirt, dress or skirt.

And always ending the afternoon with a good glass of red wine. This time we found lovely little vintage and second-hand shops ... bringing back good memories.... of clothes from the '80s. We should have kept them ; ).
