The Hague

A new start in a new town. The Hague offers a lot of new possibilities: the beach for Paco, visiting the Binnenhof with friends, and our new appartment with my own little quiltcorner. There will be a lot to explore. The lovely flowers were send by Jacqueline.
A real suprise. THANKS.

Moving from Almere

Thursday 15th novembre the moving-company started at 7.30 a.m. packing in our belongings. At 15.00 a.m. they were ready. Next morning they started unpacking our belongings in The Hague/Den Haag.

Quilting and moving

Last day in Almere, tomorrow at 08'clock in the morning, they start packing up our belongings. Rob is going with Paco to our new appartment, because we don't want Paco chasing after the men from the moving-company ; ).

We lived for 20 years in Almere (half of my life) and now it feels like making a new start in The Hague. Today it was just tidying up, cleaning the house, and throwing away things that seems to be no use.

But I still found some time to do a little quilting. This quilt will be my "welcome home" quilt in our new appartment. I borrowed the pattern from my quilt-friend Helen, she's making the same house, but I decided to change the pattern a little bit, so I placed a tree in it, instead of flowers., to make it my "own" quilt. Tonight we are invited for dinner with our friends Bart, Caroline and their kids Robert-Jan, Erik and Anoek in Almere.

No time for quilting

Still three days to go before we are moving to The Hague. Last week we're finished the floors, hang up the curtains and did some cleaning. Paco has found himself a new place to sleep, our laundry-basket. So he feels very comfortable in our new appartment.

There's not much time for quilting. My "house-quilt" and compasses have to wait. The 15th novembre I'll start with my challenge-quilt about our first year in The Hague. My quilt-friend Helen is already started.

Lucky I found a quiltshop in The Hague, they're also having quiltbees. In januar I'll start a workshop "log-cabin". Till the end of the year they're a lot of quilting activities. Novembere workshop at "Henny Oosterbaan" and in decembre we have are own workshop at Helen. We are going to make X-mas trees from Atelier Bep patterns. And of course in novembre/decembre our compasses-lessons are also continuing.

I'm looking forward to all these activities.
