Kaffe Fassett (2)

My book arrived, so that can be signed by Kaffe Fasset. Here are the fabrics I choose, I need four more, but I decided to buy them during the masterclass. The idea behind this quilt is: big prints in bright colours. Now it's cutting time, my Sara triangle ruler was a good decision this springtime in Seattle. It makes it very easy to cut the diamonds. Rob is away cycling through Germany for about 10 days, so it's quilting time all over the house. Next week Dieuwke, Willemijn and I have a quiltingweekend at my home. Oh I wish it was already the 25 of july. My sewing machine is calling me.

Kaffe Fassett (1)

Life is wonderful. My biggest problem this morning was choosing between a collection antique roses fabrics or a collection wild bright colourful fabrics. On sunday 25 juli I will be following a masterclass "hot diamonds" from Kaffe Fasset in Deventer.
I think it will be very interesting. His colours and fabrics are completely opposite of the fabrics I used the work with, reproduction fabrics, or antique quilts.
So I kept myself and the owner of the Quiltshop 100 Roses for 1,5 hour busy, doubting doubting, what will I do, ...... antique fabrics or bright modern fabrics. Well, I finally choosed for the bright modern fabrics, I mean if you're going to follow a masterclass of Kaffe Fasset, at least you want to end up with a "Kaffe Fasset" Quilt.

Summertime

I'm very busy with my antique quilttops, turning them into "new quilts". But sometimes it's just fun to make something quick of your scraps. And there are scraps enough in my boxes. This quilt took me about 6 soccermatches.

Honduras - Spain: still playing
Brasil- Ivory Coast 3-1
Denmark - Kameroen 2-0
Netherlands - Japan 1-0
Slovenie - USA 2-2
Germany - Servie 0-1

Netherlands - Japan

Oke, we did win, but it was a boring soccergame. So now the dutch team has reached the next round World Championship. Hurrah. Doesn't Paco look cute in his new outfit. I think he's the biggest supporter at our home.

American quilt

Finally finished.

To remember our "mutsenreis" to Seattle, march 2010.
The World Champion Soccer is very good time to do lots of quilting. Soccer and quilting is a good combination ; ).

You're not the only one.....

..... with UFO's (Unfinished Objects). And please don't think it has something to do with modern times. Last week I received this 13 lovely"calico blocks" (dated arond 1900-1930) from the USA. Some woman (just like us) started this quilt and didn't finished it for some reason. So you see UFO's are from all times.
Now it only needs a border, maybe some softbrown colour would be perfect.

Friendship begins with kindness........

....a and a good cup of tea : ).

As I told you before. I love exchanges, the fun of finding a "unexpected" package on your doormat is great. So look what a lovely friendship Exchange Joke sent to me. I love boxes, and especially this one, it so beautiful, I think it's perfect for my Sashiko project. THANKS JOKE. I really love it.
