Ma copine de France ...

... my friend Emma moved to the north of France (Vendeuil) in august. Remember I drove to her in november.... well 1,5 week ago she send me an whatsapp that she was coming to the The Hague. Hurrah.

This weekend: stress, stress, stress cleaning the house, sorting out the the spareroom, washing the dog, tidy up my quiltroom.
I managed ; ).

We were lucky with the weather today: sunny and blue skies.








First quiltshopping at the Quilterspalet in The Hague. Poor Emma the closest quiltshop is in Paris, just a 2 hour drive. Maybe she can open her own quiltshop over there?






Then up to Scheveningen for tea and coffee at the Carlton Beach. Great place. Sitting and chatting.. next time we take our quiltstuff as well with us.

Dieuwke is taking care of dinner, we just have to do the desert (choclate-truffelcake from maison Kelder).

Bloggersbee in Katwijk

Fun.. fun ....more fun ..... quiltfun. Second time I was at the Bloggersbee in Katwijk organised by Yvonne. Just have an impression by looking at the pictures.

I had great time.

Next year ready ; ), I'm not sure if I said that the year before as well. 

Yvonne all gave us a pattern to make a mug for your quiltstuff.

Lunch is a potluck. Well I can tell you there was more then enough.

Marielle is making a bird quilt with paper piecing. The 'vlaamse gaai' is her favorite, but I adore the 'winterkoninkje'.

After lunch we did a show-and-tell. So fun to see everybodies projects.









Last year (2015) I did my show-and-tell of my antique quilts and quilttops. That's how it all started. In the mean time I did several show-and-tells, and several show-and-tells are planned for 2016. And of course not to forget my own apron pattern.

Nelleke from Almelo showing her quilt. She drove two hours through the rain to come to Katwijk.

Marja showed several of her finished quilts. You know there are quilters that just have one or two unfinished projects. They start a quilt finish it. I'm so jealous. I think I'm more at the Top 10 of undisciplined quilters, always having my head full with plans and ideas.

.... well she looks less fat after her bath.

Friday is sewing day ....

.... as always there are too many things going on in my head. Sewing projects I want to finish, sewing project I want to start. Too much fabric ... too little time.

So many quilters are busy with the DJ, of course I tried, but after 12 blocks I gave up and made a mini-mini DJ.

But as you know antique quilts and patterns intrige me.

So I wanted to make a DJ that I could complete in 6 months or less. So this will be my own variation of the DJ, for quilters like me 'too much fabric .. too little time'. I finished 169 blocks, original size, now I'm going to put the sashing between them.

Again Featherweight Day at Atelier Bep

I'm not sure how many FW-days there have been.... but I know for sure I haven't missed a Featherweight Day.





What can you tell about it this time what you don't know?

There are 25 FW-girls and one man (Gert).

We are stuffed in the livingroom and kitchen, it always fits perfectly.

My favorite place is the kitchen in front of the fireplace.

Bep always has a little project that we make.

For some reason I never finish my project. Too busy with talking ... maybe? Some shopping.


Sold three patterns of my apron.

Granny and me

In december I had a wonderful weekend at the Dickens Festival in Deventer. With Jeltje, Henk, Sylvia, Karen and many others. I had a lovely time.

Walking in my Dickens outfit through 135.000 people. It's amazing how many people are coming for this Festival around the Bergkerk.

Well you can you put me on the list next time with my own dress. This time I borrowed a dress from Jeltje.

But I want it to make myself. So I found a nice cheap bordeaux-red taft-silk on the internet. But beside making aprons Í'm not very experienced in making clothes. Lucky Rob his grandmother is, so she is helping me.

I had a wonderful 2015, some times up some times down, but very interesting 2015, lots of love from friends and family.

So come on 2016, my head is full with plans ...... let's go I'm ready for it!
